I asked my mom, dad, and grandmother these four questions…   1. How did they spend their time differently?      2. What things were harder to do?      3. What things were easier to do?    4. How has it affected the way they live and work?

Mom- 1. ” My friends and I would walk to the park and play. We couldn’t stay on AIM all day and chat online!”     2. “It was really hard to keep myself occupied when it was raining and we had to stay inside. I wish we could have gone online and play games.”      3. “It was easier to stat physically fit because we were always playing outside.”     4. “Work was really difficult because e-mail was the easiest way to communicate at a business office.”

Dad- 1. “I used to hang with my friends and talk. We barely ever went outside.”    2. “It was really hard to contact people because I didn’t have a cell phone and my father was always occupying the phone for work.”   3. “Nothing was easier befroe the internet! For example, I use e-bay all the time and things are so much cheaper online than in stores.”    4. “I owned my own furniture store so without the internet, it was really hard to get a-hold of people because in a business that is something you really need to know how to do.”

Grandmother- 1. ”I used to stay home and do work all the time. I was a big geek. I would get home from school and do homework and make more homework because I loved doing it.”    2. “It was really hard to do research for school. I hated going into books for information.”    3. “It was easier to write registration forms out and mail them in, but now we have to e-mail them in. I don’t have internet at my house so I have to go to my son’s house and make the registration there.”    4. “Living was hard, but easy at the same time. It was easy because I was so use to that way of living, but it was hard because you can do so many things on the internet. I am greatful that we have the internet!”
